See below: Aside from medications there is exercise, especially meditative exercises like yoga or tai chi; meditation alone can lower BP as can biofeedback techniques. Avoid foods/substances that can elevate bp: too much sodium (salt, nitrites, nitrates, pickeling, marinades); too much caffeine; nicotine; older antihistamines & decongestants.

Stress management: The first thing to do is work on your stress management. Other things to do are quit smoking, drink less alcohol (one of the great secret ways to have high bp), and get some exercise. You can start simply, with walking 20 minutes per day. Work up to a fast walk for at least 30 minutes per day. Also burst training (can find it on youtube) may help you manage your stress and get some exercise.
