Moderation: Although it is best to avoid caffeine and artificials sweeteners, there really has never been any study to show any harms with moderate use. The problem is defining minimal to moderate use. Some things should be avoided entirely (smoking, alcohol, etc), but otherwise let common sense and moderation guide you.

Yes: Diet soda isn't great for anyone. But it is better than regular soda and has never been shown to cause any harm to your baby. Try to substitute water as often as possible.
