Can omeprazole cause green stool?

Probable coincidence: Green stool usually is caused by rapid transit - the stool moving through your bowels quickly. It is most likely that this was coincidence, and there is no documented "scientific" reason for this that I am aware of....However this is not the first time i've heard this. Eat plenty of fiber, drink plenty of water, and see if things don't work themselves out (no pun intended).

Side effects: Diarrhea can occur in up to 14% of people taking Omeprazole. Stool discoloration is also possible. Any conditions which cause the stool to transit too rapidly through the intestines can lead to green, moist stool.
