No way to tell: Although losing the mucus plug is a sign labor is getting closer, that period of time varies and cannot be determined with certainty. Also, many women may be dilated 1cm for a few weeks before actually going into labor. This is especially true if you have had children before.

Still don't know: It depends on more than just those things - what baby this is, any other problems, etc. You can walk around for weeks at one centimeter dilated and loss of plug can be the day before or a month before. Unless there is a problem with you staying pregnant for your health, don't be too anxious. Every extra day you can get for your baby helps, both short term and long term for them!
