My hip clicks when i walk. what is this?

Hip instability?: Possible hip instability/tendon snapping. Any injury/trauma? Duration? Your age? Any history of osteoarthritis/degenerative joint disease or hip dysplasia?

Shallow hip sucket: Congenital dislocation of the hip, secondary to shallow acetabulum(congenital) or poor hip support. You have to see and orthopedic surgeon.

Clicking hip cause: A clicking hip in a young athlete is most commonly caused by a thickened tendon slipping over the greater trochanter of the femur (leg bone). In someone with a prior hip replacement surgery this can be a sign of damage to the joint. It can also be a sign of catilage or joint damage from a prior injury or from arthritis in the joint.

Snapping Hip: A pop, click, or snap in your hip that doesn't cause any pain, limping or limitations in your activity is known as snapping hip syndrome. This is usually caused by tissues that are rubbing as the joint moves, and is not a concern but may improve with stretching exercises. If there is pain, swelling or any other symptoms, i would recommend having it checked out.
