It varies.: Unlike other cancers, hodgkin lymphoma does seem to begin in one lymph node area and then gradually spread in a predictable pattern to other lymph nodes and eventually to other sites like the spleen, liver and bone marrow. It is this behavior that made radiation therapy successful as a cure. However, the pace at which it spreads varies from patient to patient, but typically spreads over months.
