How do you prevent getting cancer? is acute myeloid leukemia preventable?

Avoid risks.: AML is not really a preventable disease. A minority of people get it due to exposure to drugs, toxins, or radiation. Most of the time it occurs spontaneously with no risk factor identified. For preventing cancers, don't smoke or drink to excess. Be very careful around chemicals that are labeled as possible cancer causing agents, if you have to have contact at all. Eat a healthy diet.
