A member asked:

Would crohn's disease be causing my vitamin levels to be so low?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Crohn's disease in the ileum can lead to malabsorption of vitamin b12. Folic acid can be affected. Vitamins a, d, e, and k can also be malabsorbed if you have fat malabsorption. Additionally, vitamin d seems to play a role in inflammation. Vitamin d deficiency is common in anyone, especially in cold winter climates. Make sure you get enough vitamin d. Check with your doctor about specifics.
