Petroleum jelly?: Good evening, the most common reason for the unpleasant feeling of the lips and area around the mouth in eczema is the dryness. One inexpensive easy measure which many patients find helpful is to apply a sufficient quantity of vaseline on the lips, especially before going to bed. This natural organic substance applied often will act as a barrier to the effect of saliva as well as keep moisture in.

Mouth paralysis: Eczema does not cause mouth paralysis so if you have this finding, you need to see a doctor for further evaluation to determine the cause.
