It can: You need to see your doctor or a psychatrist to confirm the diagnosis of panic attack and get it treated with appropriately meds and therapy oanic attacks can give you symptoms of chest pain, palpitation, throat closing as well.

Throat closing up: Yes. This can be helped. Don't give up. See a psychiatrist asap and he will lead you down a proper path. Also you may want to read tapping the healer within.
