A member asked:

How long is it safe to be on the birth control pills?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Until menopause: If you are otherwise healthy, without high blood pressure, not a smoker, without other medical problems, it is safe to continue on birth control pills until menopause. It is not necessary to stop to "take a break"--in fact, that can lead to an unintended pregnancy.
