Yes: These conditions don't have rejection sensitivity intrinsic to them; rather, both lead over many years to many subtle and not so subtle experiences of rejection. These are wounding, as they would be to anyone. Eventually, one's resilience simply gets worn down and hopelessness about acceptance and love can set in. Then, any small, normal rejection-of the kind we all must encounter-wounds terribly.
