A member asked:

I have had abdominal tenderness for 5 months, is this appendicitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: Hardly anyone believes in chronic appendicitis. But the culmination of an inflamed appendix may be deferred by use of antibiotics. Typically appendicitis gets a head start in 24-36 hours, and won't linger for weeks let alone months.
