Transmission: Different types of worms are transmitted differently. They can be transmitted in under-cooked meat (pork), walking barefoot where endemic or handling feces. Chances are higher in areas with poor sanitation or when hands are not washed properly.

What kind and where?: In the usa usually by walking barefoot on contaminated soil or by eating or drinking materials that are fecally contaminated by individuals who already have the worms, or by eating soil contaminated with dog droppings. In cleveland you can dig them up in your garden and use them for fishing bait.
