Yes: Ovarian cyst can alter hormone production from the ovary and cause irregular bleeding. If the cyst is solid then there are certain tumors called granulosa cell tumors that produce estrogen and can cause a lot of bleeding. There are many other reasons that have nothing to do with the cyst that can also cause the bleeding.
