Not neccesarily: By going to your orthopedist who will order xr of your bad knee flexed like getting up a stair and then an anterioor view of both of your knees together with a good physical exam. You'll have a fast and pretty exact idea of what is going on with your acl.

You can.: You can go to a hospital, but you will certainly need to be in the hands of a sports medicine orthopedic knee surgeon, who specializes in acl's.
