How to tell if i really have hashimoto's thyroiditis? what are the symptoms?

Although, eventually symptoms of hypothyroidism ensue, initially can present with hyperthyroidism/thyrotoxicosis symptoms-mood disorders, cold/heat intolerance, hair loss just to list a few.
