Thyroid symptoms: It presents with disturbance with the thyroid function, usually hypothyroid: lethargy, fatigue, lack of energy, depression, constipation, hair loss, dry skin, memory problems. Etc.

Lab work + symptoms : Diagnosis is made by detecting elevated levels of antithyroid peroxidase antibodies in the blood.Thyroid stimulating hormone, free t3&t4, anti thyroglobulin & antimicrosomal antibodies should be checked too. Although, eventually symptoms of hypothyroidism ensue, initially can present with hyperthyroidism/thyrotoxicosis symptoms-mood disorders, cold/heat intolerance, hair loss just to list a few.
