Is it safe to lift heavy objects while pregnant?

No: You are not going to hurt the baby but may hurt your back. My limit is about 30 pounds because that is roughly the size of a toddler and many women are pregnant with their second child and lifting their toddler.

Yes, more or less: You can safely do anything while you are pregnant that you did before you were pregnant. However as your tummy gets bigger, you may need to decrease the level of exertion to prevent a back injury.
