Not large: Benzene is c6h6, one of the chief aromatic hydrocarbons and neither particular large nor small. Its molecular weight is 78.11 grams/mol.

Small: At least compared to biologic molecules. The ring is about 3 angstroms in diameter. Compare that to, say hemoglobin at 66 a. It is an elegant and beautiful molecule, and its discovery was a quantum leap forward for chemistry and physics. Did you know dr. Kekulé discovered the ring shape of the benzene molecule after having a day-dream of a snake biting its own tail?
