Go to see gyn: Overian cancer is very rare and unlikely to be the cause of most abdominal pain. I pelvic exam and imaging with either an ultrasound or ct scan of the abdomen is best way to evaluate patients. Sometime bloodwork can assist, but physical exam by your doctor is the best approach intiially. As for prevention, there is not much other than having ovaries removed and healthy lifestyle.
