Yes: As you rperiod approaches the level of prostaglandins in your circulation increases. That can lead to an increase in cramps. Motrin, aleve, (naproxen) aspirin, etc can help th ecramps. If you do not want to conceive, ocp's will likely decrease the cramps as well.
