Cause is unknown: The true cause of buerger's disease is not known, but mostly diagnosed in male smokers age 40 or younger (becoming more common in women too). It is a rare disease affecting blood vessels of arms/legs--the inside becomes inflammed and narrowed at times blocking the blood flow thus killing the tissues as seen in picture here. Smoking is thus= biggest trigger. Stay smoke-free, kachita1. Good luck.
