Not necessarily: Fever is only a symptoms of something else going on. Your decision to go to the emergency room should be based on other symptoms you are experiencing. If you believe these other symptoms are life threatening, by all means go to the emergency room. If your symptoms are not life threatening, call or see your doctor for more guidance.
