Unlikely: This may be not infectious as you may not have other symptoms. You still need to be check by your physician and keep record of your symptoms and fever trend. Some time your metabolic activity , thyroid gland regulations varies basal metabolic rate and cause this range temperature.

No infection...: Without details, there is no infection - however, it depends on how you took the temperature. Depending on how healthy you ate, a "fever" conventionally starts at 100.4ff-101.4f rectally...If taken using a bad thermometer or a patch reader, and if the temp is measured anywhere else but rectally, the variation can be up to 1.5 f or even greater. See you clinic and get evaluated properly.

Can some types of infections cause hot flashes and feelings of a fever, but with no actual fever present when temperature is taken?
Is fever the first symptom that onset's when you have a novel coronavirus infection? Should I start taking my temperature a few times a day to establish a baseline against which to monitor for fever? That way I could know early in the infection.
For men, are hot flashes that last 3 to 5 minutes then subside, 2 or 3 times a day, the same as a fever? Can it indicate infection?
