Medication: Menstrual cramps and feeling hot are caused by the release of hormones called prostaglandins. These can be blocked by medications such as Ibuprofen or naproxen. Hormonal contraception can also be used. If over-the-counter medications is not working then she should see her physician, to discuss her options.
