Testing: Herpes presents on the lip as a blister as part of the cycle, the liquid or serum will be contagious with hsv i. If the blister is of non-viral origin, the liquid (serum) will not contain the virus. The only way of knowing for sure is to be tested for the herpes virus. It is extremely common (50-80% of people have it), recurring episodes will happen throughout life.
