What should i do with dead skin on a laceration that is on the side of my thumb?

Remove it if you can: Dead skin can be removed with a sharp object with ease. This will allow wound care to be carried out more easily.

Have it removed.: Have someone else gently remove the dead skin. It is difficult to do this yourself and you may cut into healthy skin if you're not careful.
