Not normal: This is not normal. Sounds like there was trauma involved. There has been damage to your nailbed. Eventually, your nail will completely separate from the bed and avulse itself. Best to get it checked out by your local podiatrist to make sure infection is not present and that the bed is not lacerated. Good luck!
