Elevate head of bed: Consider more pillows or even a pillow 'ramp' that is available at many bed supply stores like bbb. Eat earlier; don't eat within a few hours of bed. Eat smaller meals and no alcohol in evening. Speak to your doctor about medication if persists or try otc Omeprazole or famoitidine. Be sure to see a physician if not improved.

Minimize acid: Proton pump inhibitors on a daily basis are effective in reducing acid production. Also, take an antacid (tums, or other) before retiring to neutralize some of the acid in the stomach. Stomach reflux will probably happen, but the effects can be reduced.
