A lot: Many so called hairline fractures may not cause much problems other than some discomfort. What you need to do for them depends mostly on how it happened (trauma vs no trauma) and what bone is involved. Hairline fracture in hand or foot not to bad. Hairline fracture in tibia, femur, spine, or wrist can still cause significant problems if not treated appropriately. Get it checked out.
