Referred pain: You may have flat feet which could give you referred pain to the hips. You should be evaluated by a podiatrist. All you may need is orthotics to solve the problem as well as proper shoes.

Many causes: One of the most common causes of hip pain. Is osteoarthritis. Oa is usually seen in middle and old age, I do not know your age. Other causes include impingement syndromes, bursitis, muscle issues, snapping hip, trauma, transient osteoporosis, osteonecrosis or avn, and the list goes on. I recommend that you see your pcp or an orthoedic surgeon. www.aaos.org/findanortho/.
