A member asked:

How safe is it to take miralax (polyethylene glycol) on a daily basis? my son took it daily between the ages of 2-3. now i read a study it causes autism.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Quite safe: Mirilax is a product that has been used fro decades in adults & at least the last decade with infants & children. It holds on to water after it is hydrated & passes through the bowel without ever entering the blood.Any speculation that it could be related to autism has no basis in fact. Sadly, some conditions escape a reasoned explanation & until one is found there will be many such myths.
