Ulcer: Ulcer, stomach inflammation, reflux, small bowel problems, slow stomach emptying, over active sensory nerves are possibilities. An upper endoscopy may be necessary if symptoms persist.

Gallstones or not: Its not a guessing game if the ultrasound shows gallstones then you have them and pain after a fatty meal is fairly common if you are having gallstone related pain if the ultrasound did not show gallstones then it is something else, possibly acid related.
