Probably period: Implantation bleeding is usually lighter than a period. With the sensitive pregnancy tests available the best thing to do is test if you have any question about whether you are pregnant. If you have a positive test follow up with your physician. Early bleeding in pregnancy could be a sign of an ectopic or tubal pregnancy that could be life threatening.

Implantation: Implantation is when the conceptus (from union of egg & sperm) attach to the wall of the uterus. Bleeding most often does not occur with implantation. If there is bleeding the amount is small. It may be small rust or brown colored drops or light pink swirled in white d/C. It usually occurs about ten days after ovulation. There is more blood w period. Take a HPT if you miss your period.
