See your doctor: It could be one of many things. Inflammation of the rib cage, degeneration of the spine (neck or midback). It could also be something more serious like a tumor. Many possibilities: It is good you had the heart as a cause ruled out, which is potentially life threatening. Another potentially life threatening condition that can cause chest pain is a pulmonary embolus. A pinched nerve in the thoracic spine from a bony spur or a disc herniation is probably a more common and less dangerous cause. An MRI can be done to evaluate you for that.
