One or the other ...: The most effective way to conceive is in vitro fertilization (ivf) but the easiest way to conceive is timing intercourse around the time you ovulate, using an ovulation predictor kit if you want. In between these two extremes are tablets like clomid, (clomiphene) intrauterine inseminations (iui) or fertility shots. At 40 it's worth seeing an infertility specialist (rei) for testing, and for individualized help.
