Is it really okay to put imiquimod on my daughter's eyelids to treat flat warts?

NO: Need opthalomology evaluation. Contact with eye can cause significant reaction, and the effects on the eye are not completely known, and can be serious.

Probably not: Flat warts can be very frustrating, especially on a sensitive area like the eyelids but at the end of the day they are harmless and you want to be careful not to "make the cure worse than the disease". Imiquimod tends to create a lot of inflammation and can cause redness, pain, swelling and oozing of the treated area.

Don't recommend it: Imiquimod, which is fda-approved to treat genital warts in adults is often used "off-label" to treat warts in kids, but again i would not suggest using it on the eyelids. A couple of less irritating things that could be tried (again, off-label) include tretinoin (i.e.: retin-a) cream and veregan ointment, another topical treatment for genital warts that contains a chemical found in green tea.
