Depends on: Severity of leaking and symptoms....Most often treated by surgery in advanced cases and diagnosed by echocardiogram.

Leaking Heart Valve: Not to worry too much about mild leakage. Need follow-up and monitoring for moderate leakage. If it is serious leak then you should be evaluated further into to know whether you are symptomatic or not? Whether your heart is still compensating or not? Managament depends upon type of heart valve and degree of leakage and associated comorbid conditions.
