Is it true that reading in dim light can damage your eyes?

No: This is an old wive's tale. Although it is certainly best to read in a clearly-lit setting, reading in dim light will not hurt your eyes.

No: The amount of light while reading is a personal choice. However, for anyone with macular degeneration or other causes of poor eyesight, i recommend a "gooseneck" lamp so more light can be focused directly on the page.
