5 y/o son with encoporesis, can go weeks with no accidents, then weeks with lots.not constipated. drs said he'll stop by teenager, can't wait that long!

Needs consultation: A 5yo that soils regularly has lost the sensitivity needed at the outlet to stay clean. A program of regular emptying on a twice daily basis with good record keeping & followup testing as needed can bring this under control is a year or less. Consultation with a developmental pediatrician or pediatric gastroenterologist would be my first move.
