Clindamycin: Clindamycin ( cleocin) is the recommended alternative ( especially in penicillin sensitive individuals) for dental procedures. Anywhere from 150 mg -300 mg 4 times a day. This drug hits anaerobic bacteria better that amoxicillin. Although, to be clear, Amoxicillin in the doses you describe is satisfactory for most adults.

Antibiotics: No the dosage level is good. Could do 4 times daily. Augmentim another penc is good but harsh on tummy. Keflex family 500mg qid is strong. Clindamycin 300mg is very strong 3 times daily. These are some alternatives. All good. Sometimes the germs can become a little resistant or a change will trigger a turnaround. Talk to your dentist or md.
