Young hip is tricky: Bilateral hip pain in the young patient can be a tricky diagnosis. A thorough examination by an orthopaedic surgeon that includes imaging (xrays and even an mri) may be indicated to rule out specific diagnoses such as slipped capital femoral epiphysis (scfe) or stress fracture which are managed urgently in many cases.
