Absolutely: That is not normal , u need an exam, blood work and a pelvic ultrasound and then there are many diffeentt meds you can use to have normal( not heavy) periods assuming your tests show nothing strange.

I would : And consider starting birth control, for it helps endometriosis , bleeding and resulting anemia, and unplanned pregnancies. I would use some iron replacement until u get in.
