Ovulation pain AKA: Mittelschmerz. Occurs midcycle; you had your last period 16 days prior, pain is due to rupture of a mature follicle which occurs during ovulation, with ovulatory cycles. Pain is usually one sided, mild- moderate, cramping pain lasting from a few hours to a few days. If this is not consistent with your experience then a consult with GYN is needed to screen out GYN & non GYN causes of pelvic pain
