Yes.: Apart from pigmented lesions mole may represent other lesions. Recommend consultation with dermatologist with biopsy as needed.

Possible: It is possible for a mole to be itchy and not be melanoma, but i would recommend that any mole be removed if it is causing symptoms, as a precaution. Moles should not burn, itch, or otherwise cause pain.

Yes: Itching isn't a typical feature of melanoma. Asymmetry, irregular borders, change in color and diameter over 6 mm are the usual things to look for.
