Flu can occur any…: Time of year but is more prevalent during colder months when heating systems dry airways allowing viruses to invade more easily. Cold weather may also contribute to lowered immune system response; so flu can infect more easily. Unless allergic to flu vaccine components, good idea to get flu shot every fall & practice prevention: wash hands often; keep hands away from nose/eyes/ mouth.

'Flu IS seasonal: Because the influenza virus is affected by humidity and uv light levels, the lower humidity and uv light levels that occur in winter months allow the virus to survive more easily. So in north america, the flu season roughly runs from november to march, which is the winter season.
