Why "not working"?: Morphine is cheap & effective in treating pain in general including cancer related pain. If it is "not working", then need to ask why - dose not high enough, physiologic dependence (need more for same level of pain over time due to downregulation of opioid receptors), or other pain mechanism (eg, neuropathic). A cancer specialist, pain or palliative physician can help. Often increase dosing.
