Depends: The hormones of puberty trigger both the final growth spurt and eventual closure of the growth centers. Women generally grow 5-7 cm after their first menses, which itself can happen at differing age based on genetic and dietary factors. Most will finish by 16-17.A single x-ray of the wrist/hand can identify growth centers as either open (more growth) or closed (finished growing).
