Cosmetic, infection: Dermal piercings satisfy a cosmetic and societal need depending upon the company you keep. The other advantage is that unlike tatoos, they can easily be removed. The cons are infection in the healing period after piercing and long term allergic response to the rings and things placed in the piercing.
