Dermal Piercing: Clean a new dermal piercing w saline (1/4th tsp non-iodized salt mixed in 1 cup of warm water). Apply with clean gauze or spray 2 to 3 times a day ; wipe w fresh paper towel. Risks w dermal piercings include migration of piercing (shallow piercing), embedding (pulls skin layers together), infection, allergic metal contact dermatitis (especially nickel) or rejection of metal.
